Jonathan Carlisle (1991) is a pianist and composer from Cincinnati, Ohio. He began playing piano in 2008, and soon after, composed his first piece. Jonathan studied with Simon Goykhman at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati.
In October of 2009 he made an appearance for the classical musical series at the White House. Jonathan has won numerous awards, including the Corbett-Mayerson award, The Ohio Teacher’s Music Association (OTMA) Award – Gold Medal Winner, City Beat Magazine – Best of Cincinnati Pianist, and Featured musician at the Carnegie Center in Covington, Kentucky. He regularly performs at the Aronoff Center’s Beethoven, Bach and Brahms Club.
After graduating from SCPA, Jonathan continues his studies at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). In his compositions Jonathan incorporates a vast array of popular songs that are covered on the piano. From The Beatles to Beethoven, Metallica to Mozart, he combines old with the new and makes people curious about his next move.
Jonathan currently works with Constella, performing his original interactive project for children – Beethoven and the magic box.
